International Osteopathic Symposium of Nantes

Idheo organizes the 13th International Osteopathic Symposium of Nantes

in collaboration with the University of Nantes.

This Symposium will take place on March 11th and 12th, 2022.

More than 400 participants of many nationalities are expected to listen and debate around conferences, short communications, scientific posters and workshops. The theme of the 2022 edition will be : The Upper Limb: current knowledge in multidisciplinary care.

Antoine CRETAL

Current osteopathic management of the shoulder : a survey

Antoine CRETAL works as an osteopath in private practice since 2003, he is a teacher and clinical supervisor at IDHEO in Nantes. Passionate about clinical reasoning, Evidence-Informed Osteopathy, the biopsychosocial model, as well as pain neuroscience, Antoine CRETAL is interested by the educational applications of new scientific data that improve our professional practice.


The unstable shoulder

Jo is a Clinical Physiotherapy Specialist working at the Liverpool Upper Limb Unit at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and a Consultant in private practice. She has worked as a Shoulder Specialist since 1995 and lectures nationally and Internationally about assessment and rehabilitation of the shoulder complex. Jo has co-developed Masters modules with Liverpool University for the diagnosis and treatment of upper limb pathology and has co-authored national guidelines for the management of different shoulder pathologies.

She has presented original research at many National and International conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals and written several book chapters.


Therapeutic education for people living with shoulder pain

Mike is a physiotherapist, researcher and visiting university lecturer with over twenty years experience of helping people to overcome pain. Mike is a dedicated practice-based educator who is passionate about providing evidence-based education to a wide variety of health professionals. He teaches across elite sports, and is an advisor on pain management to the International Olympic Committee. Mike has a Masters degree in Education and is planning a PhD focusing on pain and communication. His published work has received international praise from the leading names in neuroscience.

Dr Dominique HUGUET

The rotator cuff : differenciating tendinopathy and tear

Dr Huguet is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Atlantic Health Clinic since 2001, specialized in shoulder, knee and sports surgery. He studied at the CHU of Nantes, and in various specialised departments in France, Canada and the United States. He is member of the French and European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, member of the French-speaking Society of Arthroscopy.  He is also a knee and shoulder prosthesis designer and lecturer at IDHEO since its creation.
